Senior sprinters take off at the Bay Area Senior Games held at Stanford University
Strong relationships help with the recovery from cancer and help build a healthy life
Summer National Senior Games It is now little less than one year until the United States' largest participatory multi-sport event makes its West Coast debut in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it is time to plan your trip to San Francisco. As the Senior Games movement grows, they expect more than 12,750 athletes over the age of 50 to come to the Bay Area in 2009. This will be the Summer National Senior Games you can't afford to miss. So save the date (August 1-15, 2009), get in shape, and don't forget to qualify at the state level in 2008. Volunteers are also being actively sought for both preparation and execution of this event.

LIVING STRONG, LIVING WELL A strength/fitness program for cancer patients and survivors.
WHAT
Living Strong Living Well is a twelve week small group program designed for adult cancer survivors and patients who have recently become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and/or disease. Our goal is to help patients build muscle mass and muscle strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. Certified fitness instructors trained by Stanford and the YMCA will give personal individualized instruction to the participants. The instructors are trained in the elements of cancer, post rehab exercise, nutrition, and supportive cancer care. We have done over 100 groups from San Jose to San Mateo.
This program is available at no cost.
