Looking back on the 2008 Olympics, it was inspiring to look at the some of the athletics whose age should be a limitation but who have shattered that myth. Nobody thought 38 year old Constantina Tomescu Dita of Romania was going to win the Women's marathon. but she became the oldest women to ever win an Olympic marathon. Of course, we should all be familiar with Dara Torres, the 41 year old mother a 2 year old. She returned to swimming to get back in shape after having her daughter. She now has 3 more Silver medals to show and I find her very inspiriting. To quote her, "Don't put an age limit on your dreams.". We are watching to see how 58 year John Dane does in sailing. He first tried to make the Olympic team 40 years and has tried nearly every Olympic year since. Perseverance and determination have paid off with his qualifying this year.
